You cannot write the voice of a brand you do not know. Before the first sentence, Heritage begins by listening: your path, your trade, what gets you up in the morning. Not to decorate a text, but to find the real material, the kind no agency can invent in your place. This step produces no final line, and that is exactly what makes it decisive.

Listening means looking for the material, not confirming it

Many brands arrive with a ready-made story, repeated so often that it no longer says anything. At this step, our job is to dig under that polished version: why you really started, what you do better than others without even thinking about it, the sentence you let slip at the end of a meeting once your guard is down. The real story is often hiding there, in the aside.

We also listen to what your customers say about you, in their own words. A brand does not choose its voice alone: it finds it where what it is meets what others recognise in it. At the end of the listening phase, we do not hand you copy yet. We hand you something more useful: a clear ground, a few pivot words, and the angle from which all the writing will hold together.

  1. We go back to the origin

Why you exist, what you set out to fix or change when you started. The reason for being is rarely on your website, but it is almost always in what you say.

  2. We spot your real craft

What you do with an ease you no longer notice, and that sets you apart from a big chain. It is often your best argument, and the worst expressed.

  3. We listen to the voice that already exists

Your words, your turns of phrase, what your customers say. We gather the raw material before shaping it, so the story sounds like you, not like us.

  4. We set the pivot words

A few right terms, the ones that will come back everywhere. They are not the text yet, but they already fix its colour and its consistency.

The right words are not written, they are heard. My first job is to listen long enough to recognise them.
