A positioning strategy built on a hunch lasts about as long as the meeting it was born in. One built on a real grasp of the field lasts. That is why Route never starts with a recommendation: it starts with immersion. During this first phase, we are not trying to be right, we are trying to understand where you genuinely stand, before deciding where to go.

Understand the field before charting the course

In practice, we dive into three things at once: your market, your clients and the competitive landscape. The market, to grasp the codes of your sector, its tensions, what gets said and what stays unsaid. Your clients, to hear in their own words what they actually come to you for, rather than what you assume you give them. The players around you, to spot what has become the sector's default, what everyone promises in the same way, and therefore the space left open to exist differently.

This immersion feeds on you as much as on the outside world. We gather what you already know: your internal numbers, your client feedback, the questions that keep coming up in meetings, the deals you win and the ones that slip away. We add our own reading of the market to it. It is the crossing of the two that reveals what truly sets you apart, as opposed to what you would like to believe sets you apart. At this stage we collect and connect, we are not deciding yet.

  1. We start from your vision

A working session with you to pin down your real objectives, your ambitions, your constraints and what matters to you. This is your raw material, and it steers the rest of the immersion.

  2. We listen to your market and your clients

We analyse your sector and the way your clients describe you, in their own words. We look for the need behind the request, and the language your audiences actually use.

  3. We map the players around you

We observe what the major players in your market promise, their codes, their angles. Not to copy them, but to identify the territory they saturate and the one they leave empty.

  4. We gather the signals

We pull everything we have collected into a clear, shared reading. No recommendation yet: an honest snapshot of your situation, which will serve as the foundation for the trade-offs to come.

Before I tell a brand where to go, I want to know exactly where it stands. Everything else in Route follows from that.
